About Abacus College

Abacus College was founded over 30 years ago, is one of Oxford's oldest established colleges of pre-university education.

The courses offered include IGCSE, University Foundation Programs,and A Level (A2 & AS).The University Foundation Program is available in subjects such as business, Engineering, Law, Science and Computing, while the A Level programs are in business, science and mathematics, and languages and humanities.

Oxford Language Centre, Abacus College's partner college offers specialised English language courses. Students come to Abacus College from all over the world to achieve their goal of gaining admission to British universities.

Campus information

The College has a high-speed wired and wireless network throughout its premises. All students are able to use the wireless network to gain access to the internet. A number of open-access computers are available and all students are given a network profile, which allows them to save and access their work, and the college’s applications suite, from anywhere in the college.

All teaching rooms are equipped with white-boards. Digital projectors and laptops are available for staff to use in any teaching room. There is a fully-equipped science laboratory, a computer room and a well-stocked library and resource centre. There is also a student social centre where members of the college can eat, drink, relax and socialise.

Oxford is world famous for being a vibrant student city with an incredible amount to offer – plenty of excellent cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs, as well as many good cinemas, theatres and museums. The historic colleges of Oxford University are simply breathtaking and most are open to visitors. For those of you who are sporty, there is a wide range of gyms and leisure venues dotted around the city.

Located in central Headington, amidst all local amenities, including supermarkets, shops, banks, cafes and traditional English pubs.

There are also plenty of green spaces nearby, including two large parks – Bury Knowle Park, one of Oxford’s most picturesque parks, and South Park, which occupies 50 acres of open space and has magnificent views overlooking Oxford.

Transport links from central Headington are excellent and students have easy access to the city centre (only a short 13 minute bus ride away) and to central London (60 minutes away) and all London airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted.
