About Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN)

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) is one of the first private universities in Malaysia and wholly-owned by public-listed Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), one of the largest utility companies in Southeast Asia.

The university’s programmes are focused on engineering, information technology, business and related areas. UNITEN takes pride in its ability to blend and impart almost naturally soft skills with engineering, information technology or business management knowledge to its students. It aims to prepare its graduates to become individuals with sound professional and intellectual integrity.

UNITEN is making steady progress towards becoming the tertiary education institution of choice in the region. This is partly due to the state-of-the-art infrastructure available on campus coupled with a world class teaching faculty.

Grooming able graduates who can hit the ground running once they enter the real world is what UNITEN does best. The learning environment in the University is one that fosters creativity and independence; two premium ingredients in the development of top-class graduates. At the University, the students are constantly pushed to the limits to develop resolve and strength of character. The molding of the students into wholesome graduates is further enhanced by the courses offered. In this respect, they are designed with expert advice from the industry, making them highly relevant, authentic, and practical.

All the courses offered at UNITEN are certified by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Engineering and accounting courses are recognised by professional bodies such as the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Malaysian Institute of Accountant (MIA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), among others. The number of courses available in UNITEN is being increased gradually in tandem with the development and demands of the industry.

UNITEN’s high quality, practical and internationally recognized courses are delivered by a teaching faculty that is made up of consummate and dedicated professionals who are the experts in their respective fields. They also have many years of research experience under their belts.
