About University of Huddersfield

Founded in 1825, the University of Huddersfield has grown to become Times Higher Education University of the Year 2013. We have been rated by QS Stars as a 4 star university with the highest five star ratings for teaching excellence, internationalisation, student facilities, access and employability.

Huddersfield is the first university in the UK with all teaching staff as fellows of the Higher Education Academy, so you will be taught by highly qualified teaching staff, and over 40 of our groups of courses have been recognised by professional bodies including ACCA and IET. 100% of our students undertake professional work experience during their studies – we are in the Top 10 in England for paid work placements (HESA DLHE data 12/13) – and the University works with some of the biggest and best companies in the UK and overseas such as Microsoft, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Panasonic, Red Bull F1, Unilever, BBC and DHL. As a result, 93.6% % of our students go on to work and/or further study within six months of graduating (Destinations of Leavers Survey 2012/13).

Campus information

Sustainable living is essential to the student experience we offer.  We ensure that thinking and acting green is becoming a way of life on campus, so that your time here can be as innocent as you want it to be.  Through a combination of initiatives, including investments in new buildings that make the sustainability grade, buying low energy computers and equipment, and good energy and water management practices, we are consistently in the top 10 of all UK Universities on carbon emissions.  We are proud to be consistently recognised as one of the greenest UK Universities (in the People and Planet Green League) for our environmental management.

Huddersfield is located between Leeds and Manchester.
