About this course
The Master of Human Resource Management course advances the skills and knowledge in human resource management of officers working in the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) departments and government agencies.
The normal duration of the Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) course is two academic years. To qualify for the award of the Master of Human Resource Management, officers must complete 11 units of study (150 credit points). An academic year consists of 4 terms of two long semesters and 2 Intensive terms and two short semesters.
In a long semester, a term comprises of 6 weeks of teaching of one study unit. Each study unit has a minimum 6 hours of class contact time per week or equivalent. Classes in a long semester are normally held on Saturdays and/or Sundays. The short semester occurs in the months of January and July. Two units of study are conducted in an intensive delivery mode in a short semester.
Classes are normally conducted for 6 full working days. In addition to formal class time, officers are expected to spend a minimum of the equivalent class contact hours per week in private study, assessment preparation and project work. As part of the talent development framework, officers selected to pursue the MHRM course are normally sponsored by the Sarawak State Government.
- Applicants should have completed an appropriate undergraduate qualification at a credit level (CGPA 2.5, GMAT 550 or equivalent) from a recognised academic institution.
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS Band 6.5 (no individual band below 6.0)
- TOEFL 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based)
- A credit or above on Swinburne Sarawak English Placement Test (EPT)
