Eligibility for admission to study Engineering in Australia

In order to study engineering in Australia, the prospective student must meet certain academic and English language criteria. For diploma students, most universities require a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 and year 12 HSC with an ATAR of 65. Bachelor’s degree programs usually require a full pass of the STPM and IELTS score of 6.5. Master’s degree programs require a bachelor’s degree in engineering usually with an overall of 60% or better.

The cost to study engineering in Australia varies depending on university type and degree sought. For a diploma of engineering at a private university, cost averages around RM 78,000 or 26,000 A$. A 4-year bachelor’s degree can range from RM 175,000 to RM 335,000 or 58,000 A$ to 111,000 A$. A 2-year master’s degree ranges from RM 132,000 to RM 204,000.
