About Weston College

Weston College is an Ofsted 'outstanding' college based in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. It provides education and vocational training to nearly 30,000 learners from across the country.

Since 2001 the College, whose origins date back to 1845, has undergone a total transformation, culminating in being named both 'College of the Year' and 'Overall Further Education Provider of the Year' at the 2015 Times Educational Supplement Further Education Awards.

This tremendous achievement places us among the five highest-performing colleges in the country.

At Weston College, our vision is to enable students to fulfil their potential through excellent teaching plus strong support and guidance, all within a state-of-the-art learning environment.

The College has three main campuses; the modern University Campus, our extensively-refurbished, town-centre, Knightstone Campus, and the continually developing South West Skills Campus.

Each site provides students with modern, state-of-the-art, facilities designed to enhance their learning experience and enable them to succeed.

Weston Bay is conveniently situated on the sea-front, between the College’s Knightstone and University Campuses. It has eight bedrooms and four flats, allowing residents to get used to living away from home by managing household tasks like cooking, washing, ironing and cleaning in addition to developing their social skills.

Weston Bay also provides support with independent living, employability, accessing the community, study skills and mobility training in an environment where social skills are embedded throughout. Length of stay ranges from one night to three months, depending on individual requirements.

Accommodation

The Higher Education Academic Registry Team (HEART) at Weston College provides a friendly and helpful service throughout the year for all students. We are here to advise on and allocate the degree-level student accommodation and are able to help those students who may wish to find their own privately rented accommodation.

We also help second and third year students find rented accommodation and are able to give information and advice on what to look out for as well as putting you in touch with our preferred landlords.
