About Westmont College
Founded in 1937, Westmont College is an undergraduate, residential, Christian, liberal arts community. Located in Santa Barbara, California, Westmont College devotes itself exclusively to undergraduate courses, Westmont is ranked #90 in the U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Colleges 2012" list of liberal arts colleges. The community which is based on staunch Christian standards, are free to explore the breadth of the liberal arts while maintaining their beliefs and strengthening them.
Westmont College offers 26 majors, ranging from art, biology, chemistry, communication studies to English, history, European studies, kinesiology, liberal studies, and mathematics amongst other courses. The student/faculty ratio is 12 to 1; which enables the average class size comprising of 18 students. Students at Westmont, hail from 25 states, 11 countries, and 33 Christian denominations, which creates a diverse community to live in.
The campus, which has five on-campus dorms, provides a conducive and pleasant environment to live in. Extracurricular activities at Westmont are plenty, as it offers athletics, student organizations, intercultural programs, publications and so much more to choose from. Life at Westmont never gets boring, as there are movie screenings, balls, gala’s and charity events being held throughout the year.
