About Thomas More College

Thomas More College is a small liberal arts college with a big reputation. We are celebrating our ranking as the #1 college for return on investment in the state of Kentucky by PayScale, Inc. for 2015 and 2016. TMC consistently receives a top ranking by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best regional universities in the South.

Founded in 1921 by the Benedictine Sisters as Villa Madonna College, Thomas More now serves more than 1,900 students from across the country and around the world on its beautiful Crestview Hills, Kentucky campus, located just minutes from downtown Cincinnati.

Thomas More College's 100-arce campus is well-equipped with state-of-the-arts buildings and facilities, which included:

  • Library (features books, journals, magazines, electronic books and etc)
  • Eva G. Farris Art Gallery
  • Biology Field Station (center for applied biological research)
  • Administrative Building (houses the majority of offices and classrooms, cafeteria, and computer center)
  • Science Building (it's a four-story building houses offices and classrooms for the Biology, Chemistry, Education, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology departments.)
  • Connor Convocation Center (houses the gym, training rooms, and athletics offices)
  • Holbrook Student Center (consists of the bookstore, Interlude Cafe, Steigerwald Hall, and Student Life offices.)
  • Marian Hall / Howard Hall (Female-only resident halls)
  • Ackerman Hall (Male-only resident hall)
  • Murphy Hall (Co-ed suite-style resident hall)
  • Bank of Kentucky Field (features football, soccer, track & field)
  • Bank of Kentucky Observatory (houses Physics Department, providing observatory facility.)

Close enough to the city life and close to the countryside, the pleasant, suburban campus setting features modern facilities situated on 100 acres of rolling Kentucky hillside. Access to big-city culture and entertainment are set against a backdrop of the beautiful Ohio River Valley and all its geographic significance.

Thomas More College is ideally located in beautiful Crestview Hills, Northern Kentucky, just 10 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, and 10 minutes from the Greater Cincinnati International Airport. This region of the country is accessible via automobile to much of the midwest and southern U.S.


Ackerman Hall
A traditional, single-sex male residence hall that can house up to 136 students. Recently renovated in 2015, Ackerman Hall has been painted, carpeted in common areas, and new furniture has replaced old in the study areas, Ackerman features a large study lounge and recreational lounge. The recreational lounge has a large screen TV, pool tables, ping-pong tables, foosball, and dart board. Rooms are carpeted, and furnished with desks, chairs, beds, closets, bureaus and waste baskets. Blinds are provided in all rooms. The room's floor size is approximately 15' x 11'

Murphy Hall
Murphy Hall is the College's newest addition to the residence hall system. Opened in 2002, this suite-style residence hall can house up to 160 students. It is co-ed by floor. Our 4 person suites are arranged with two people each having an individual bedroom. Each suite includes private bathroom facilities. Murphy Hall includes a large recreational area with a large screen TV, pool table, and public kitchenette. ADA accessible accommodations are also available. Rooms are carpeted and furnished with desks, chairs, beds, closets, and bureaus. Blinds are provided in all rooms. The bedroom's floor size is approximately 15' x 11'.

Howard and Marian Halls
Recently renovated, both Howard Hall and Marian Hall are traditional residence halls that can house up to 72 students each. The buildings share a recreational lounge space and have 2 large study lounges. The recreational lounge has a big screen TV, fireplace, vending machine, pool table, and dart board. Rooms have a tile floor and are furnished with desks, chairs, beds, closets, and waste baskets. Blinds are provided in all rooms. The room's floor size is approximately 15' x 11''
