About The Art Institute of Las Vegas

The Art Institute of Las Vegas was formerly known as the Design Institute which became a part of The Art Institute System of Schools in April 2001 and subsequently moved into a new facility at 2350 Corporate Circle in Henderson, Nevada. To meet the growing needs of their institution, they added a second building which makes up a total of 45,000 square feet of classroom, computer lab, library, professional skills kitchens, a dining lab and office space. This institute is part of the fifty over The Art institute which is found throughout North America. Their institute includes the renowned International Culinary School at The Art Institute (formerly known as Culinary Institute of Las Vegas. Other programs include design, media arts fashion.

The Art Institute is able to bring a real-world perspective into the classroom, preparing students for entry-level positions upon graduation as many of the educators at the institute are working professionals in their respective fields.

The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools has accredited the The Institute to award diplomas, associate’s degrees, and bachelor’s degrees. The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education.

Graduates of The Art Institutes schools are employed by some of the most prominent companies in the United States including Fortune 500 companies. Amongst them are companies such as: MTV, Time Warner, AT&T, Home Depot/EXPO Center, Lockheed Martin, Nordstrom, Nintendo of America, Walt Disney & Affiliates, Marriott, Yahoo Broadcast Services, Ernst & Young, Microsoft, Ford Motor Company, and the Fox Entertainment Group.

In addition to classrooms, studios, professional skills kitchens, a student-run restaurant, laboratories, offices, student lounge, a learning resource center, and an exhibition gallery, The Art Institute maintains an art supply store for the convenience of the students. The Institute is made up of approximately 65,000 square feet which include The Art Institute of Las Vegas and The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Las Vegas.

The Institute provides equipment for student use is specific to the program of study. This includes projectors, editing decks, drafting tables, camcorders, WindowsNT and Macintosh computers, printers, fully equipped kitchens and more.

The Art Institute of Las Vegas is located approximately 16 minutes from one of the The Entertainment Capital of the World. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States with its extraordinary shopping, dining, sports and the magnificent outdoors, Las Vegas is alive with sights and sounds from the glittering Strip to the amazing Fremont Street Experience to a trip on the Starship Enterprise.

The Art Institute of Las Vegas offers housing assistance to all enrolled students. The complex is conveniently located within walking distance to a variety of restaurants, grocery and retail stores. Complimentary transportation is provided from the housing complex to The Art Institute of Las Vegas three times daily, Monday through Friday. Parking is provided at no cost to all students, faculty, staff and guests.
