Saint Louis University, situated in mid-town St. Louis, offers an array of unique residential housing opportunities for student residents. The campus housing and residence life system offers 8 residence halls and 4 apartment complexes; and provides perhaps one of the most distinctive "out of classroom" educational experiences within the entire university.
Throughout the residence halls, students have the opportunity to become part of an academic learning community and/or first-year interest group. These opportunities allow students the chance to experience the cohesiveness and intimacy of a small cohort peer group, with similar academic, social, and service interest; while still remaining closely engaged to and enjoying the cultural and scholarly resources of a large university.
Living on campus does much to assist in fostering spirit, allegiance, and a sense of community at Saint Louis University; and the Department of Housing and Residence Life makes every effort to represent the diversity of the entire undergraduate community within every residential facility. In this sense each residential facility is a microcosm of the larger student population.
The residential housing system offers students a familiar, comfortable living environment, personal interaction with professional staff and administrators, and exciting opportunities for academic extracurricular exploration.
Campus
SLU has more than 200 student clubs and organizations, everything from fraternities and sororities to special interest groups like the Hispanic American Leadership Organization, the Political Science Club or SLU-TV, a student-run television network. Or, start a new club yourself!
The rationale: Studying makes life plenty busy. But getting involved on campus is a great way to blow off steam, serve others and develop leadership skills employers love to see on resumes.
