About Loyola College in Maryland

Loyola University Maryland is a Jesuit, Catholic university located in a residential neighborhood in northern Baltimore.

Loyola's undergraduate program, which is grounded in the liberal arts, offers majors and minors in more than 40 academic fields. We pride ourselves on developing students who are well-rounded scholars and leaders who are distinctly prepared to succeed in every aspect of their lives.

Loyola is home to students from all over the world and 30+ countries are represented at the undergraduate level. A student is considered and must apply as an international applicant if he/she is not a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident (green card holder). U.S. citizens and permanent residents residing abroad are not required to apply as international applicants but their applications will be reviewed by the international admission staff.

At Loyola, we are committed to making your transition to the University (and to the United States) as easy as possible. Our office of international student services office offers many services to help you adjust to campus life and Baltimore. Their office provides a New International Student Orientation, immigration and visa services, cultural programming and trips, and overall international student support.

Campus information

The Evergreen campus is, quite simply, what college should be. It is grassy quadrangles filled with Frisbees and picnic lunches, historic academic buildings that inspire you to crack open your books, and comfortable residence halls where you have life-changing conversations, discover new favorite bands, and eat a whole lot of pizza. We invite you to explore our facilities, buildings, and 80 acres of wooded Maryland landscape

Memorize the names Harbor East, Federal Hill, Canton, and Fell’s Point. ‘The Avenue’ in Hampden is one long strip of new, vintage, and some of the most popular dining establishments in town. Pick up farm fresh produce at the Baltimore Farmers’ Market, enjoy the monthly Baltimore Bike Party—a themed bike ride around the city with 1,000 of your new friends dressed in costumes. Furnish your place with interesting knick-knacks from the Station North Flea Market.
