About Colby Community College

Colby Community College offers a myriad of choices when it comes to selecting a program of study. There are over 60 academic and vocational programs to choose from in many of today’s high-demand career fields. Academic programs focus on fulfilling general education requirements to prepare students for successful transfer to a four-year institution or entry into the job market. Vocational programs feature two years of intensive training preparing students for employment immediately upon graduation.

Campus information

In addition to the main 80-acre campus in Colby, the college operates a 60-acre agricultural center east of the city. Students in agriculture-related programs utilize the college farm as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. A pioneer in outreach education, CCC accommodates hundreds of off-campus students by offering classes at 24 locations in the 14-county service area.

Colby Community College is located in the northwest corner of Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Colorado and Nebraska borders. The area is part of the High Plains, sweeping upward to the Rocky Mountains 250 miles to the west.

Colby Community College offers a great opportunity for students to live on campus! Living Center Northeast is the newest addition to our housing options. The rooms are set up as suites with a bathroom shared by two rooms. Each room is double occupancy with you and your roommate sharing a closet and vanity/sink area. Living Centers East and North are set up in four room suites, referred to as units with a maximum of two students per room, or a maximum of eight students per unit. Each unit has a bathroom and a shared living room.
Living center lobbies feature a television, microwave oven, refrigerator and vending machines as well as public computer banks. In addition, a coin-operated laundry facility is located in the lobby of both Living Centers East and North and on each floor in Living Center Northeast. Each living center is located within walking distance of the fitness center, indoor swimming pool, volleyball pits and tennis courts, as well as the Student Union and classroom buildings.
