About this course

This one year highly vocational and practical course is designed to help aspiring performers to develop the skills needed to break into the Performing Arts industry and continue further training.

Here at Warrington Collegiate we have a team of highly skilled tutors with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience that will help students to develop a range of techniques in acting, voice, movement and dance.  Students will be encouraged to explore their creativity and be exposed to a host of performance genres. The college has strong links with the local culture projects and this further enhances the college’s provision. The training programme is designed to help you become a fully rounded and confident performer capable of bringing a new dimension to each role you undertake. The productions you will take part in are run to the highest standards and a high level of commitment and passion are necessary to succeed. The Level 2 course will give you an ideal opportunity to progress on to our specialist Level 3 programmes in Acting and Dance, further supporting you for the industry, drama/stage school and degrees.

You will have access to great facilities, including a well-equipped rehearsal rooms, dance studios and our very own theatre. You will also have access to guest industry practitioners and performers who will provide further skills and insight into being a performer.

Entry Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs (D or above) including English or successful completion of a Level 1 course with Functional Skills Maths and English). If you have not already achieved a Level 2 or GCSE grade C or above in English or Maths, you will be expected to work towards a qualification as part of your vocational course. This will increase your chances of employment or progression onto higher education. You will be assessed and put onto a suitable course which will enable you to achieve a qualification.
  • Applicants who do not meet these entry requirements will be assessed on an individual basis by the Curriculum Manager and Curriculum Director.
