About this course
The Electrical & Electronic Engineering Diploma Level 3 is intended to link to the local industry as much as possible both in its content and in the mode of attendance. The aim is to introduce the new engineer to the strategy that will provide them with a route to the HND or Foundation Degree qualification. The aim at the end of this route is to produce a highly qualified and knowledgeable engineer to meet the requirements for a multi-skilled engineer who can maintain and improve the many different systems used in industry. The National Diploma has enough practical subjects, as well as academic subjects, to provide the industry with well rounded engineers who can make a useful contribution to their future employer.
- You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs (C or above), including Maths and English (or Adult Literacy and Numeracy Level 2), or successful completion of a Level 2 course (achieving a merit or above and completing Functional Skills Maths and English). If you have not already achieved a Level 2 or GCSE grade C or above in English or Maths, you will be expected to work towards a qualification as part of your vocational course. This will increase your chances of employment or progression onto higher education. You will be assessed and put onto a suitable course which will enable you to achieve a qualification.
