About this course
This new innovative course is designed for those students who wish to pursue a career in digital media production. Our degree offers you an understanding of the dynamic state of the contemporary media industries within a local, national and global context and how digital media production is contributing to the evolution of creative practice. Paired with this knowledge of industry practice and trends, we offer a flexible programme of workshop and project-based study to help you acquire skills that will fit a range of employment contexts and to command your career choices.
The course has a strong emphasis on engagement with the local media industries, to ground your experience in contemporary practice. Each of the project-based modules will be situated within a live commission or competition and will have a published outcome, one that will invite and encourage dialogue with the local media scene and beyond. We will also encourage collaboration with students from our other creative pathways, to model through the ways in which contemporary media practitioners now engage with each other in their working lives.

Students must be aged 18 or above with a guideline of 160 UCAS points from qualifications with the volume and breadth of A levels or BTEC equivalent. Students will be expected to have a GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English. Mature students without the necessary UCAS points will be considered on an individual basis.
