About this course

The BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing and Systems Development provides an opportunity for you to apply your knowledge and skills in the workplace. The aim of this qualification is to prepare you for employment in the IT sector and it is available to you if you are a mature learner who may wish to enter a specialist area of employment within the IT sector. 

This course aims to develop a sound understanding of the major theoretical and practical principles associated with working in IT. The unit content will be delivered through a variety of methods including traditional style lectures, workshops, group tasks, practical sessions, guest speakers, application to real life working practices and self-directed study. There will be a focus placed upon contextualisation, conceptualisation, discussion and presentation of ideas and the course will build on topics and concepts that are fundamental to IT development.
