About this course

This course is for students who are committed to developing skills in studio recording, music production and sound design. The course is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a professional career as a producer, studio engineer or sound designer. They will learn how to market music and have the opportunity to publish their work on the College's professional record label. Students will gain hands-on studio experience in a practical hi-tech environment and have access to an industry standard studio. They will also be trained in events management and technical support of live events by professional musicians.

Entry Requirements

Admission requirements include:

  • 5 GCSEs grade A* - C, including English and a subject relevant to your chosen area of study.
  • Students with full Level 2 vocational qualifications with an overall Merit/Distinction will be considered alongside 2 GCSEs grade A* - C including GCSE English and a good reference.
  • For those who are 18 years or over and do not have these qualifications, they will need to show relevant experience, interest and a suitable level of ability. They will be required to attend an interview and audition.
