About this course
This course is aimed at those who already have a background in music production or studio sound engineering, to further develops skills in studio production, composition, and studio recording and engineering.
The HND is based in the College's purpose-built modern Creative Industries Centre, which boasts two fully equipped music recording studios and a music computer suite with state of the art Apple Mac computers running the latest Cubase, Pro Tools and Logic software. There is also an extensive range of high quality studio microphones and ancillary equipment. In addition to this the teaching staff are all current industry professionals with specialisms in audio engineering, composition, and music production software.
You will need to have qualifications to a minimum of 120 UCAS points, for example:
- BTEC Level 3 in Music Technology or Music Production, or
- Two A Levels, one of which should be in Music or Music Technology, or
- A related Level 3 qualification,
Mature students may progress to this course with a relevant portfolio or experience, either paid or unpaid, or having achieved a range of professional qualifications.
