About this course
The Advanced Diploma of Translating aims to provide the student with the contextual knowledge, bilingual skills in English and a LOTE as well as ethics needed to perform competently at a professional standard corresponding to the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) translator levels.
The course comprises of six translating specific competencies, all of which are core competencies and six elective units. After successfully completing the course, students will be well equipped with both theoretical and practical knowledge skills required for practicing as a translator from English into LOTE.
- IELTS 7.0 or pass a written entry test designed to assess the level of reading, comprehension and writing proficiency in both languages.
- Completion of the Diploma of Translation with a score of at least 70% in Translation OR IELTS 7.0 or pass a written entry test designed to assess the level of reading, comprehension and writing proficiency in both languages.
- A recognized Degree or Diploma OR NAATI accreditation at the paraprofessional level in the relevant language and proven work experience.
Note: In addition, all applicants must have a native-like proficiency in a relevant LOTE language.
