About this course
The PSP61012 Advanced Diploma of Translating reflects the skills and knowledge required to translate special purpose texts from one language to another to convey information written using specific terminology for a specific audience.
The PSP61012 Advanced Diploma of Translating aims to provide the student with the contextual knowledge, bilingual skills in English and a LOTE and ethics needed to perform competently at a professional standard corresponding to the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) translator levels.
The course is 21 hours per week of face to face classroom based. In addition, students are expected to engage in a minimum of 10 to 20 hours of self study each week.
- IELTS 7.0 or pass a written entry test designed to assess the level of reading, comprehension and writing proficiency in both languages.
- Completion of the Diploma of Translation with a score of at least 70% in Translation OR IELTS 7.0 or pass a written entry test designed to assess the level of reading, comprehension and writing proficiency in both languages.
- A recognized Degree or Diploma OR NAATI accreditation at the paraprofessional level in the relevant language and proven work experience.
Note: In addition, all applicants must have a native-like proficiency in a relevant LOTE language.
