About this course

This couse is suitable for students who want to develop a strong interest in a practical approach to biological and chemical sciences. After successful completion of the 90 credit Diploma in Year 1, students can progress to Year 2 to study an Extended Diploma. After successful completion of the Extended Diploma you can go on to higher education. Job opportunities would include roles in a wide range of modern computing and photographic careers.

Year 1 course = 90 credit Diploma
Year 2 course = a further 90 credits providing in total a 180 credit Extended Diploma.

To achieve a national Diploma you must complete 18 units over two years. There are six core units and 12 specialist units, many of which involve a lots of laboratory work. There are biology, physics and chemistry units and well as mathematics, psychology and law based units.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs grades A*-C must include maths, core and additional science or a relevant Level 2 Diploma (with merit) in Applied Science plus GCSE maths (A*-C) and English (A*-D).
