Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College Launches New Metro Campus in Menara TIMA

Kuala Lumpur, 9th of March 2015 - Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College held a launch ceremony to mark the opening of their new Metro Campus in Menara TIMA. This signifies another important milestone for the university in their pursuit of providing affordable quality higher education.

With the new campus being situated right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, students will find it easily accessible as it is located close to public transportation. The new Metro Campus also offers better facilities and infrastructure for the students, including new lecture rooms, mini auditoriums, conference rooms, computer labs and a comprehensive library, to name a few. Each facility accommodates to the needs of all students, placing utmost importance on convenience, accessibility and comfort. The new Metro Campus also complements the existing campus, the Putra Campus as it undergoes a facelift to upgrade its existing facilities.

In line with the true spirit of KLMUC and their motto, ‘Real World Practice,’ the institution continually strives to provide the very best of education through acquired knowledge and practical experience.

“I am extremely proud with the launch this new campus, since our establishment in 1991 our aim has been to provide quality and wholesome education to students from all walks of life and this new campus reflects our principles and growth as an institution,” said Haji Kamal Nawawi, CEO of Cosmopoint Group of Companies.

The launch also saw the commemoration of The Malaysia Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education (MCIEE), which will be held at the new Metro Campus. Commencing over a period of two days, the conference will begin tomorrow until the 11th of March. MCIEE resonates well with the government’s call for students to hone entrepreneurial skills at a young age. The conference will attempt to contribute ideas and thoughts to policy making and also acts a platform for theorists and practitioners to converge on their relevant fields.
“We are honoured to host the inaugural MCIEE conference which is the result of the hard work and vision of our esteemed Vice Chancellor and students; it meets the national aspiration of 2020 in becoming a developed nation that is highly adept in fast evolving industries, one of which is entrepreneurship, ” Haji Kamal Nawawi adds.

The new campus will offer an array of courses, some of which include Engineering, Information and Technology, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Health Sciences and Media Studies to name a few.

“It has always been a main concern for us to provide quality education through affordable means, we believe in giving our students equal opportunities regardless of their background, be it family, race or religion, we hope with this new campus our students will continue to succeed and prosper in all of their undertakings,” said Haji Kamal Nawawi.

Currently, all of KLMUC’s academic programmes are endorsed and approved by the Ministry of Education and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (formerly LAN). With prominent icons such as Chef Adu and KUKUBESI representing the institution, KLMUC remains to be one of the top choices for affordable quality higher education.
