The University of Waterloo (commonly referred to as Waterloo, UW or UWaterloo) is a public research university with a main campus located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Waterloo is a member of the U15, a group of research-intensive universities in Canada. University of Waterloo is most famous for its Cooperative Education (co-op) programs, which allow the students to integrate their education with applicable work experiences. The university is co-educational, and has nearly 27,000 undergraduate and over 4,000 post-graduate students.

University of Waterloo, main campus:

Spread over 400 hectares of former farmland in Waterloo, Ontario, a leading Canadian technology hub, the University of Waterloo’s main campus is home to advanced research in a variety of fields, including health, engineering, mathematics, psychology, quantum information, nanotechnology and environmental studies.

University of Waterloo, School of Architecture:

The School of Architecture at Waterloo offers a fully co-operative professional program, and has been rated the greenest architecture curriculum in Canada. The nationally and internationally respected design school is located in the historic Riverside Silk Mill in the old Galt neighbourhood of Cambridge, along the banks of the Grand River.

University of Waterloo Health Sciences Campus and School of Pharmacy:

The School of Pharmacy is the anchor institution for the Health Sciences Campus of the University of Waterloo. The campus is also home to the regional program of McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Medicine as well as a family health team.  Student pharmacists have the opportunity to care for patients as part of an interdisciplinary team of physicians, pharmacists, nurses and other health care professionals.

University of Waterloo, Stratford Campus:

Focused on education in digital arts and media, the Stratford campus is a collaborative, strategic partnership between the City of Stratford and the University of Waterloo, bringing students, leading researchers, businesses and entrepreneurs together to create, examine and commercialize opportunities in the digital media space.

The University of Waterloo is situated on 4 campuses, including the main campus approximately 110 km west of Toronto – in the heart of Southwestern Ontario.

  • University College Residences - The University College Residences are independent but affiliated with the larger UWaterloo campus. Each University College is a smaller community with its own character and distinctive programs.
