11 Ways To Destress And Celebrate Post-Exams

1. Laze around guilt-free
The exams have probably drained you of energy and sleep. This is the best time to catch up on that. And, once you’re rested, to just laze around, watch tv, or just stare at nothing and clear your mind.
2. Enjoy the outdoors
Whether it’s snowing or sunny, take some time to disconnect from the internet and reconnect with nature. After spending your time shut away, this is a great way to remind yourself of the world out there and savor the lovely touches of nature in December.
3. Take a long
Leisurely lunch Students are always pressed for time during exams. Some say that they don’t have the time for proper meals, others live off of junk food that is stuffed into their mouths as they flip yet another page from yet another thick textbook. Now that you are no longer preoccupied with studying 24/7, treat yourself to a leisurely lunch and then go for some dessert! (Bonus points if you spend time to cook it for yourself.)
4. Spend time with friends
The lunch we mentioned? Why not invite a friend (or 5!) to join you and catch up on how your exams went (and what the new gossip is). Plus, you never know what drama you missed out on during exams–high stress periods are also often filled with relationship and friendship turmoil. It’s also a great time to make plans for the holidays and next semester!
5. Spend Time Pampering Your Body
You know what else got neglected while you were busy stressing about your grades and future? Your body. Spend time grooming yourself. Get that new haircut you wanted. Go for a traditional massage. Or go the whole nine yards and have a spa day, with a facial and a hair treatment while you’re at it! (Guys, this applies to you too. You don’t know the joys of self-pampering until you experience it!)
6. Redecorate Your Room.
Give yourself a change of environment and take on that DIY project you’ve been putting off all semester because “it takes too much time”. DIY Butterfly deco for your wall? Do it! DIY Candle jars? Sounds wonderful! DIY game room? What are you waiting for! Even if it is just redecorating your room to make more space or get rid of bad vibes, now is a good time for a change.
7. Meditate
Three words: Declutter your mind.
8. Work Out
Give yourself a serotonin and adrenaline boost and go for a run. If that’s not your thing, lift some weights, go for a long swim, do some intensive yoga, or just go for a long walk. Your body will appreciate it, and so will your mind. Exercising helps regulate your sleep cycle, mood, and even appetite. So, get yourself back on track (or start a new fitness regimen) these holidays.
9. Catch Up On Social-Media
Facebook, like New York, never sleeps. Just because you had exams doesn’t mean people stopped posting. But, we’re sure that like all good students, you stopped checking. So, check out what happened on facebook, twitter, instagram and other social media while you had your head buried in your textbook. While your at it, go catch up on your celebrity gossip too. That’s the best part of holidays–you don’t have to be productive.
10. Return books to the library
and feel smug about being done with exams early!
11. Go On A Holiday!
Visit your family or friends or just take a solo backpacking trip and traipse across a country. Treat yourself to a mini-vacation before you face the reality of having to give up all your free time again.
