About Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA)
Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) aims at producing trained students to become professional artists, designers, and musicians to fuel their respective industry with their creativity and innovativeness in Malaysia. Since its establishment in 1967 as a non-profit organisation, the institution has been providing a variety of Diploma courses particularly in the areas of art, design, and of course, music with quality and up-to-date contents.
Students are given the emphasis on mastering their creative skills, making in-depth inquires, initiate conceptual development, form critical thinking and acquire IT knowledge. The Institute makes every effort to merge the need to learn and utilise software applications and practising multi-ethnic cultural values into its courses in hopes that it can enrichen the learning experience for students.
At the Malaysian Institute of Art, the education in creative arts provided includes a conducive learning environment and the motivation for its students to drive their artistic passion in their respective course programmes. The success of their students cannot be made possible without the assistance and guidance from MIA’s academic staff who proudly possess genuine attributes from both local and abroad universities as well as their invaluable experience in the appropriate fields.
To ensure that they can enrichen students’ learning options, MIA has formed several partnerships with other prestigious institutions that are originally located in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and China. This advantageous bond between these institutions allows MIA graduates to continue and participate in Degree programmes abroad. This can be equally applied to local universities and colleges as well.
