About this course
This programme investigates innovative performing arts practices, predominantly for performers, directors, choreographers, arts managers, designers, stage managers and writers or additionally those who wish to pursue teaching in the future. All roles are studied in their historical, socio-cultural and political contexts, engaging with practitioners both past and present to explore all possibilities for creating live performance.
You will have the opportunity to continually test and apply your creativity in a variety of professional settings and will be given the opportunity to perform in a variety of local venues ranging from our own professional Theatre in the Round to external venues. In this programme, you will mix practical work with written and verbal investigations in order to give you a complete and thorough knowledge of your subject and will be encouraged to approach study in an independent and professional way. Students may have the opportunity to progress on to a relevant honours degree within the Grimsby Institute Group or at another university.
Applicants should hold a HNC Performing Arts or appropriate equivalent qualification. All applicants will be required to attend for an interview and undertake an audition. However, students with no traditional entry qualifications are encouraged and will be considered on an individual basis
