About Holmesglen Institute

Established in 1982, Holmesglen is one of the leading providers of vocational and higher education in Australia. Currently, it offers over 500 courses from certificate and diploma to degree level in a range of study areas, teaching more than 50,000 students across 7 campuses:

Accommodation

Holmesglen Student Services offers an accommodation listing for students who wish to stay near campus. Options are usually share accommodation in private houses, units, flats, or self-contained bungalows. Temporary accommodation listings and homestay are also available for apprentices and international students respectively.

Campus

Chadstone campus

Opened in 1982, Chadstone is the original Holmesglen campus – as well as the largest and most populated. Featuring some of Victoria's best building and construction training facilities, the campus offers over 30 pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships in various areas of the trade, including plumbing, carpentry, glass and glazing, and stonemasonry. At Chadstone, students can also find cafes, bars, shops, radio and TV studios, graphic design studios, architecture suites, a business faculty, IT labs as well as a number of health and community care courses.

The Chadstone campus is easily accessible by public transport and car. It is located adjacent to Holmesglen train station (on the Glen Waverley line) and two minutes from the Warrigal road exit on the Monash freeway. There as also multiple bus routes found along Warrigal Rd. 

City campus (St Kilda Road)

Located opposite the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens, students at the Holmesglen city campus can enjoy a modern, dynamic learning and living environment in the heart of Melbourne. Conveniently situated on St Kilda Rd (on the corner of Dorcas St), the city campus is easily accessible by many major tram routes.

This campus boasts the latest technology and equipment, featuring facilities such as high-end design studios and Mac labs. Students can find architecture design and early childhood education courses here.

Moorabbin campus

The Moorabbin campus is found at South Road in bayside Melbourne and is a short walk from Moorabbin train station (on the Frankston line). Located between Nepean Hwy and East Boundary Rd, it is accessible by various bus routes as well as by car.

Holmesglen at Moorabbin houses the Holmesglen Private Hospital, the Renewable Centre of Excellence and the Vocational College. The campus also features other impressive amenitites such as simulation and lab facilities, hospitality kitchens, global culinary force Le Cordon Bleu, and student restaurant Cilantro. Programmes here focus mainly in the areas of nursing, allied health and pathology as well as in the electrical and engineering discipline.

Waverley campus

With extensive horticulture grounds, this campus provides a leafy, open and vibrant environment for learning. The Waverley campus features an outstanding range of facilities, including hospitality kitchens, student restaurant Zest, an early childhood practice room, film, photography and sound studios, a massage and naturopathy clinic, as well as a new training gym and exercise science room. Holmesglen at Waverley also houses the Institute's Vocational College, and is particularly ideal for those seeking hands-on experience in preparation for the job market. 

The Waverley campus is in close proximity to two train stations – Glen Waverley and Syndal (both on the Glen Waverley line). This campus is also easily accessible by car and by bus, which travels from the train stations along Waverley Road, directly to the campus front door.

Bulli Street campus

Located also in Moorabbin – just a short walk from the South Road campus – Bulli Street campus is Holmesglen's main industry training health and safety facility, offering training courses leading to nationally recognised, fully accredited qualifications. This facility delivers OHS compliance and industrial skills training, including scaffolding, industrial rope access, forklifts and EWPs. It also conducts onsite testing for WorkSafe High Risk Licensing. 

Eildon campus

Holmesglen at Eildon is nature-themed offsite precinct, and makes for an ideal getaway for corporate, educational and private groups. Aside from a working cattle farm, agro forestry and wildlife zone, Eildon also has communal learning, social and presentation spaces as well as accommodation services.

The campus offers an array of engaging and outdoor experiences and accommodation options for all to enjoy, some of which include archery, abseiling, mountain biking, rafting, fishing, and orienteering. Located on the Rubicon State Forest in the Goulburn Valley region, Holmesglen at Eildon is a two-hour drive from Melbourne.

North Melbourne campus

The North Melbourne campus houses Futuretech, an electrical training facility purpose-built for the collaborative training venture between Holmesglen and the Electrical Trades Union (ETU) Victoria Branch. It offers pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, short courses, industry courses and retraining of retrenched electrical workers. This partnership has won the Industry Collaboration Award at the 2017 Australian Training Awards.
