About Falmouth Marine School

Falmouth Marine School provides a comprehensive selection of courses from introduction to degrees in partnership with Plymouth University. We specialise in Boatbuilding, Leisure & Watersports, Marine Engineering and Marine Science & Biology.

We have an excellent international reputation for our marine courses with superb facilities including boatbuilding and engineering workshops, a dedicated marine science lab and a well equipped watersports centre. Our tutors combine industry experience with academic expertise and are active in their field through research and personal interest in their subjects.

Our research unit allows you to participate in original research and gain a greater understanding of the marine systems you intend to work in. We also have an employment officer to help you start your career once you have completed your studies with us.

Whatever you choose to study, Falmouth Marine School is committed to ensuring that you enjoy your time with us, and can be assured of personal attention, support and guidance every step of the way.

Accommodation

Where you live is central to your College life.

You need to ensure you are going to be happy in your surroundings. A key factor is the cost of the accommodation - therefore you need to look closely at how much you can afford before you start looking.

We are always concerned about the health, safety and welfare of all students.

We would therefore strongly advise our younger students (those under 18) to choose a Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal option (BBEM). By choosing BBEM we can be assured (provided the student/parent/landlady/landlord let us know) that they can be contacted and have a mature adult on hand to help should any emergency arise.

This is particularly necessary overnight and/or at the weekends. Student accommodation can be in a family or home environment, with meals provided at set times each day. Alternatively you may prefer self-catering in shared houses or flats.

We are able to assist with the following:

  • Self-Catering and Bed & Breakfast accommodation lists
  • Lodging lists
  • Short-term and temporary accommodation
  • Your rights and responsibilities as a tenant
