Entry Requirements

For non-native speakers of English:

  • IELTS 6.0 overall, 6.0 in writing.
  • GCSE (minimum grade c) in English

Other:

  • Applicants must have completed or be in the process of completing, a minimum of 60 hours counselling skills study at levels 2 & 3. They must demonstrate an ability to reflect upon like experiences and show an appropriate level of self-awareness, and an ability to evaluate basic counselling theory and beliefs.

Curriculum

The course is based on the person centred philosophy and therapy of Carl Rogers.  All course tutors are qualified and experienced person-centred counsellors. 

Career and progression opportunities Counsellors now work in a wide range of services including; abuse services, drug and alcohol addiction, primary care counselling, relationship services, loss and bereavement, services for young people, mental health services and careers services as well as in private practice.  

Qualification from the course will enable counsellors to work towards professional accreditation and to pursue higher education in counselling and counselling related fields.
