Entry Requirements

  • A Level
    • CCC.
    • GCSE Grade C in Maths and English.
  • International Baccalaureate
    • 26 points overall with three HL subjects at grades 5, 5, 5.
    • SL Maths and English at 5 points.
  • Other equivalent qualifications.

English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS (Academic): 6.0 overall, with no component below 5.5;
  • TOEFL Internet Based Test: 80 overall with a minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing;
  • Pearson’s Test Academic English: 56 overall with a minimum of 51 in each component;
  • Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): 169 overall with a minimum of 162 in each component;
  • Cambridge English First (FCE) : 169 overall with a minimum of 162 in each component;
  • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): 169 overall with a minimum of 162 in each component;
  • Other recognised qualifications.

Curriculum

Year 1

You'll study the technical and legal aspects of property, the property market and economics of property development and valuation. Modules include:

  • Building Design & Technology 1
  • Property Value Studies
  • Surveying 1: Measurement
  • Property & Construction Business Law
  • Construction Costs Studies

One option module, such as Intro to Modern Architecture or Intro to Contemporary Architecture

Year 2

You'll study the technical aspects further, along with an introduction to planning and valuation. Modules include:

  • Building Economics
  • Building Design & Technology 2
  • Planning & Development 1
  • Surveying 2 (Property Management)
  • Valuation 1

One option module, such as Intro to Contemporary Architecture, Scottish Legal System , Intermediate Economics, Managerial Finance, Personal Investment and Portfolio Planning, Introduction to the Financial Services Sector.

Year 3

You'll be provided with an in-depth knowledge of real estate appraisal: investment and development, as well as specialist and statutory valuation. You'll also examine how urban planning regulates the development of property and value of real estate. Modules include:

  • Planning & Development 2
  • Investment Appraisal
  • Valuation 2: Specialist and Statutory Valuations
  • Planning & Development 3

Year 4

You'll focus on the sustainability of property development and valuation. Modules include:

  • Project Evaluation: multi discipline professional project
  • Sustainable Development
  • Valuation 3
  • Dissertation
