If you want to work as an accountant or study accountancy, possibly without going to university, this is the course for you.
The Association of Accounting Technicians is well recognised and respected as a professional membership body throughout a wide range of businesses and requires its members to have a professional and ethical approach throughout their accountancy and finance careers
This course is an ideal starting point for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance, providing grounding in the core accounting skills and knowledge needed to progress either to employment or to further study. It is suitable for young people who are just leaving or who have just left school as well as for adults returning to work after a break or for anyone wishing to change career.
The course provides both the theoretical and practical skills needed to work successfully in an accounting role and you will learn the skills you need to become an accountant through regular practice of the techniques covered in class.
The course is divided into two parts.
The autumn term provides an introduction to accounting by completion of the Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting. You will learn the basics of book-keeping and costing as well as computerised accounting and working effectively in accounting and finance.
In December you will progress to the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting, where you will be introduced to the basics of financial and management accounting, spreadsheet software, VAT, and professional ethics.
- 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C including English language and Maths or equivalent.
