About this course

Aimed at teachers working in the lifelong learning sector, these programmes have been developed in partnership with a number of further education colleges.

DTLLS is a two-year, part time programme for those intending to undertake a full teaching role in the sector and who wish to embark on the IfL Professional Recognition Scheme which leads to QTLS. The programme can also lead to CTLLS and PTLLS for those who wish to follow the IfL associate teacher route (ATLS) or obtain the threshold level or licence to teach. These can be achieved in a shorter time period.

The programmes have been developed in partnership with a number of further education colleges including Bournville and Halesowen. The Certificate is taught at these partner colleges. Trainees will receive awards from the University of Worcester and the programmes are also endorsed at national level by Standards Verification UK (SVUK).

These courses are ideal for colleagues working in the lifelong learning sector, for example subject specialists in literacy, numeracy and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) and in other academic and vocational areas. The qualification will be required for teachers who wish to apply for QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills) status.
