Entry Requirements

Students should have a Medical degree plus a minimum of 2 years’ UK National Health Service experience in Anaesthesia. Students are normally expected to be in clinical practice throughout the course.
Applications will be made direct to Postgraduate Medicine, BSMS. Applicants will be short listed and interviewed.
Students will be expected to be aware of the latest trends and developments in anaesthesia, e.g. through reading appropriate journals.
Claims for the Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) will be considered to a maximum  of 50% of the total credits permitted.

English Language Requirement:

Students for whom English is not a first language must demonstrate an acceptable standard of comprehension and communication in the English Language (IELTS: minimum overall score of 7.0 and 7.0 for the writing element).

Curriculum

In addition to the six modules taken on the PG Dip, MSC students will also undertake a 16,000 word dissertation.

The course syllabus takes elements of the FRCA curriculum and covers them in greater depth with focus on the development of new areas of practice and evidence based medicine.
