As one of the winner of ‘Pitching for Progress’ competition organized by the Ministry of Education (MOHE), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) have organized their own intermural pitching competition to promote students’ involvement in management and their creativity. The competition was held in all 12 UniKL institutes and the winners contested in the final round which was held on the 29th May 2017 in UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation technology (MIAT) in Sepang.
Among the finalist are the trio of international students, Obaida Hani Farouq Abul Khair (Australia), Miguel Benedict Anton O. Samong (Philippines) and Udaaramba Gamarallage Thineth Ranjaka Jayathillek (Bangladesh) representing their institute UniKL MIAT with the idea of Service.My mobile application to promote students from niche or specialized UniKL campuses to provide services to the public.
UniKL promotes the participation and involvement of international student in all activities and the trio proved that they are making an impact by winning the second place for a tough pitching competition which was judged by none other than the president/CEO of UniKL, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud and panelist of the university’s top management that includes the one of their board directors, the deputy president of Student Development & Campus Lifestyle, Chief of Finance, Chief of Marketing & Planning and the Director of UniKL Project Management Office. The commitment shown by the UniKL top management is a testament of their dedication to the students’ university experience and their willingness to get direct feedback from students and their involvement in the direction that the university is heading.
