About this course
A foundation degree is a stand-alone programme equivalent to the first two years of a traditional degree. It differs from a traditional degree in that it combines the academic world with the work-related practical side of the business world. Many students who complete the FdA progress onto the Top- up degree and graduate with a BA (Hons) which takes an additional year for full-time students and one and a half years for part-time.
The Foundation Degree in Business Management is designed to ensure that the student develops an in-depth knowledge of how business works alongside the managerial skills required to progress to a senior role. The course is suited to those new to the sector and those with more experience who are interested in progressing in their career.
One of the following minimum entry requirements will normally apply. Applicants with qualifications equivalent to those listed may also be admitted to the foundation degree. If applicants have alternative qualifications they are advised to contact the Award Leader for consideration.
- GCE A Level
- BTEC National Diploma
- BTEC Extended Diploma
