About Wofford College

Wofford College is a four-year, coeducational, private liberal arts college located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It was established in 1854 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Since 1992, about 5,000 trees have been planted on campus. Currently, it has 1,568 undergraduate students. Wofford competes in NCAA Division I-AA athletics, and the school mascot is the “Boss” the Boston Terrier. The college has hosted the NFL Carolina Panthers for their summer training camp for the past 17 years.

Wofford has 8 residence halls scattered about its historic and picturesque 150+ acre campus. 93% of Wofford students live in the on campus residence halls all 4 years of their college experience. Each residence hall houses students in a co-educational setting that helps to build the close knit community that Wofford is known for.

The Wofford College Historic District consists of the Main Building, which was designed by Edward C. Jones in the Italianate style, and six two-story brick residences.It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
