About Washington College

Washington College is a private, independent liberal arts college. It was originally established in 1723 as the Kent County Free School, and then evolved into Washington College in 1782. George Washington supported the founding of the college, and the college became coeducational in 1891. The university is home to about 1,450 undergraduates from 33 states and 22 nations.
