About Virginia Highlands Community College
The College moved to its permanent 100-acre campus during the summer of 1970 and, in response to the community’s needs, expanded its course offerings to include both occupationaltechnical programs and baccalaureate-transfer programs.
The mountains that surround the Abingdon town beckon visitors to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air and spectacular scenery. The downtown district with its brick sidewalks and tree-lined streets entice visitors to explore every block and visit every shop, restaurant and café.
