About University of Scranton
The University of Scranton is a four-year, coeducational, private university located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1888 and is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church and now has 4,069 undergraduate students with an additional 1,965 graduate students. The University of Scranton competes in NCAA Division III athletics and the mascot is Iggy, born in 2004 and named after Saint Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. The school’s athletic are known as the Scranton Royals, and the current president of the university is Kevin P. Quinn.
