Entry Requirements

Transcripts/Diploma

  1. Official secondary school (high school) transcripts/mark sheets, which list course work and grades of the four (4) years of high school education (or 3 years if you are still completing your final year of high school at the time of applying to UNC Charlotte). Generally, UNC Charlotte requires 4 units of English (or your native language), 4 units of Mathematics, 3 units of Science, 2 units of History/Social Science, and 2 units of the same Foreign Language (which may be English). Note that some programs (majors) are competitive.
  2. Certified/true copy of your secondary school (high school) diploma (degree certification) if you have already earned your high school degree, unless your high school transcripts clearly indicate your graduation date.

English Language Proficiency

In order to ensure English language proficiency, any applicant whose native language is not English, and/or who has been educated primarily outside of the US, must submit official TOEFL or IELTS scores. International students completing their high school education in the U.S. may submit acceptable SAT scores instead.
