Entry Requirements

If you're applying as a first-year student, the following items are required:

  • A completed application
  • Counselor statement and transcript
  • Teacher recommendation
  • Test scores - SAT Reasoning Test and/or the ACT (including the writing section, which is offered with both exams).
  • Essays --  require one long and one short essay
  • A non-refundable $80 application fee

Please note: If you've taken any AP, IB, or SAT Subject Tests, you are welcome to provide these scores as well. Please note that certain exam scores are used to place enrolling students in the appropriate math, English, and foreign language courses.

International students

  • Students currently attending a school where English is not the language of instruction or students for whom English is not their first language are required to submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A score of 100+ on the internet-based TOEFL (or 600+ on the paper-based test) or a band score of 7.0 or higher on the IELTS is considered competitive.

And

  • Test scores - SAT Reasoning Test and/or the ACT (including the writing section, which is offered with both exams).

Curriculum

  • Three art history foundation courses
  • Two intermediate art history courses
  • One advanced art history course

  • One undergraduate research seminar
