About this course

A minimum of 27 credit-hours of courses numbered 600 or above, approved by the program, are required. Appropriate courses taken while earning the M.S. degree from the program may be used to partially fulfill this requirement. A maximum of six semester-hours of Special Problems (ENCH 648) may be used in fulfilling this requirement.

In addition to the 27 hours of course work, a minimum of 18 credit-hours of Dissertation Research (ENCH 898 or 899) are required. Courses taken to fulfill the requirements of the program must be approved in advance by the Chemical Engineering graduate program director and by the student's advisor, if one has been selected. All M.S. and Ph.D. candidates are required to pass an oral qualifying examination. Students seeking a Ph.D. are also required to pass a written qualifying examination. The examinations are given twice annually and the student has two opportunities to pass.
