In the comfortable campus atmosphere, professors not graduate students teach classes. Students choose from more than 50 undergraduate majors, minors and emphases in 27 fields of study including a personalized degree and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Union’s newest academic option, international rescue and relief, is the only bachelor’s program of its kind in the United States. This high-energy major prepares students for careers of humanitarian service or disaster response around the world.
Located in the capital city of Lincoln, Nebraska, Union’s arboretum campus offers billowing trees in a sprawling park-like setting. Founded in 1891, Union’s 50-acre setting blends the ivy and brick of collegiate tradition with modern facilities.
Union College is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and exhibits a diverse international climate. Many countries and most states are represented, although students come primarily from a nine-state area known as the Mid-America Union Conference. The college is sensitive to individual, racial and ethnic differences and seeks students and personnel from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Downtown Lincoln is only seven minutes away from the Union College campus. Lincoln is also home to two other universities: Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The Lincoln area contains more than 80 miles of bike trails, as well as many off-trail paths. Lincoln offers outdoor and indoor malls, shopping centers and a factory outlet center within 30 minutes.
Lincoln's Haymarket district is a renovated historical site filled with charming shops, restaurants and an old railway station. In addition, downtown Omaha is less than an hour away.
Lincoln has more parks per capita than any other United States city and is within easy driving distance to many lakes. Holmes Lake and Pioneers Park are favorites of Union students; other options include Pawnee Lake, Branched Oak Lake and Blue Stem Lake.
Modern sculpure with book theme Lincoln offers many cultural opportunities. The Lied Center is acclaimed as one of the top United States performing arts centers, hosting symphonies, ballets, Broadway shows and more. There are several museums and art galleries, including the Sheldon Art Gallery, which houses a noteworthy collection of 20th century American Art of more than 12,000 pieces. The Lentz Asian Cultural Center has 500 pieces in its permanent collection, and the changing exhibition brings different displays of art and photography. Both Lincoln and Omaha are stops for national concert tours, and three community playhouses round out the list of activities.
Union is located in the center of the nation with easy access to Lincoln, Omaha and Kansas City airports. Lincoln is only a one-hour flight from Denver or Chicago.
Both at Union and colleges and universities nationwide, students who live on campus are tend to get better grades, feel more connected to campus life, and take fewer years to finish their degree. Because of the connection between residence halls and success in college, Union requires younger students not living with their parents to live on campus

To accommodate students who are married, 22 years of age or older, divorced or single parents, Union College owns approximately 70 units - apartments, duplexes and single family dwellings. All college-owned properties are conveniently located within one or two blocks of campus.
We are very excited about our newest rental option, Cooper Place Apartments. This 24-plex has all of the latest conveniences including central heating & air, washer/dryer in each unit, free computer connectivity through the college, its own parking lot, glass top stove with self-cleaning oven, frost-free refrigerator, dishwasher and garbage disposal. An added benefit is that it is located just a few yards from the Larson Lifestyle Center and tennis courts.
