About this course
The Master of Arts in Teaching program consists of a core of courses that all degree candidates will complete, plus various specialization courses to meet state certification requirements in a particular discipline. The specialization disciplines currently include early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, and special education. The program provides an immersion option that will allow a cohort of full-time students to complete the program in one academic year beginning and ending with a summer session. Students who are employed full time may complete the new program on a part-time basis beginning in the summer or fall. In order to become certified, students successfully completing the Master of Arts in Teaching program must take and pass the PRAXIS Examination in their area of specialization and must also complete the state of New Jersey hygiene-physiological requirement.
