Pittsburg State University, a comprehensive regional university, provides undergradu­ate and graduate programs and services to the people of southeast Kansas, but also to others who seek the benefits offered.  This is accomplished by the unique combination of academic programs in the four colleges of the University: Arts and Sciences, Busi­ness, Education, and Technology.  The university is equally committed to fulfilling its state-­wide mission in technology and economic development by facilitating partnerships with secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, businesses and industries.

Campus information

As a Pitt State student, your studies are your number one priority. But even the best students don't study all the time. And that begs a question: When it's time to give the books a rest, what's there to do?

The answer, we're glad to report, is plenty. There are 150 student-run clubs and organizations, organized around interests that range from debate and forensics to music and martial arts. Fraternities and sororities enliven campus life. Students from 45 countries lend an international atmosphere to campus, and celebrations showcasing other cultures are popular campus events. You can scale the walls with the rock-climbing club, or give blood by playing rugby. And how many colleges have their own drag-racing club

Located in the southeast corner of Kansas, PSU is within two hours of Tulsa, Okla., Kansas City, Springfield, Mo., and Fayetteville, Ark. Our students are close enough for big city visits, but can still choose from a host of local activities and entertainment. The 20,000 citizens in the picturesque community of Pittsburg, Kan., take real pride in supporting Pittsburg State and its mission of encouraging all individuals to achieve their potential.


Living on campus is one of the premier components of the university experience. The Office of University Housing at Pittsburg State University offers a variety of high-quality and safe options for campus living.

The International Programs & Services Office serves nearly 400 students from 50 countries. It assists students with academic success and easier transition to living in the United States. Housing is an important factor in the success of each students. We realize that international students may not be accustomed finding a reasonable place to stay, therefore we've extended our help.
