About North Carolina A&T State University
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an historically-black, four-year, coeducational, public research university located in Greensboro, N.C. It was established in 1891. In 1960, students from the university made civil rights history when they staged a sit-in at the Woolworth's store in downtown Greensboro—an event commemorated by an annual celebration at the university. NC A&T has 9,206 undergraduate students and 1,675 graduate students. It competes in NCAA Division I-AA athletics and its mascot is Aggie Pride the Bulldog.
