Lynchburg College is a private, independent, residential college located on 250 beautiful acres in central Virginia.

The student body numbers 2,800 undergraduate and graduate students. LC offers 40 undergraduate majors, 57 minors, 13 pre-professional programs, and 18 graduate degrees, all supported by a strong liberal arts foundation.

250 acres with more than 40 buildings, most of Georgian design; newest additions include Drysdale Student Center, which has undergone a $12 million expansion and renovation bringing it to a total of 72,000 square feet; Elliot & Rosel Schewel Hall, a $12.5 million facility housing the School of Business and Economics, Communication Studies Program, Bank of America Modern Language Resource Center, and Sydnor Performance Hall; a five-building townhouse complex providing housing for 144 students; Peaksview Hall, a five-story apartment-style facility housing 100 students; Shellenberger Field renovation; Moon Field renovation; Graduate Health Sciences Building

Lynchburg, Virginia, in the eastern foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, approximately 180 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. and 120 miles west of Richmond, the state capitol.


Living on campus is comfortable, fun, and helps you focus on your studies. We offer campus living in our six residence halls for all students – including summer school students.

Each residence hall room comes equipped with a bed, dresser, desk, and closet/armoire for each resident.

Each room has one Ethernet port per resident and one cable jack per room. (You’ll need to provide your own Ethernet and cable cords.)

Each residence hall has:

  • Air conditioning and heating
  • Washers and dryers that cost $1.25 per load
  • Full kitchens that include an oven, refrigerator, stove, and microwave
  • Lounges with flat-screen, cable televisions
