Two Paths to Becoming a School Counselor

Whether you’re ready to enter an M.Ed. program that includes New Hampshire certification or you already have a master’s degree in a related field and are seeking New Hampshire certification alone, Keene State can prepare you to become a catalyst for educational change.

The School Counselor program offers two options:

  • Master of Education Degree: with endorsement for NH Department of Education Guidance Counselor (K-12) certification credential
  • Post-Master’s Certification Program: NH-approved certification program with endorsement to the NH Department of Education to confer Guidance Counselor (K-12) certification credential

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher with 2.50 GPA or GRE scores at 50th percentile or above
  • Passing Praxis scores or current teacher certification
  • Three professional references
