About this course
The M.A. in Counseling program at Johnson State combines a core of courses in general counseling, elective courses and an internship specifically tailored to your occupational interest. Participants may specialize in:
- Clinical Mental Health Counseling
- School Counseling (including college counseling)
- Mental Health and Addictions counseling
The curriculum plan for a Master of Arts in Counseling requires students to take a core of required courses, additional specialization course work in the area of interest, a personal growth experience and an internship with accompanying seminar. No thesis is required.
Whenever possible, faculty individualize the program to meet each student’s specific career objectives. Individually designed internships are developed with area agencies, schools, businesses and colleges.
