About this course
The English MA program at Georgetown is dynamic, innovative, and committed to offering students a breadth of choice and a variety of opportunities for scholarly and professional specialization and development. We welcome applications from students pursuing a Ph.D. elsewhere after completing an MA at Georgetown, as we do from those aspiring to careers in writing, editing, teaching, and many other fields requiring advanced skills in written communication, critical analysis, and research.
All graduate classes are seminars with an enrollment maximum of 18. Close student-faculty contact is a hallmark of the program.
- TOEFL: Minimum score of 550 (paper-based test) or 80 (internet test). Many departments and programs require submission of a TOEFL score of 600 (paper-based test) or 100 (internet test) or higher.
- IELTS: Minimum score of 7.0. Some departments and programs require submission of an IELTS score of 7.5.
